· Exit 5 (I-15 and Dixie Drive interchange) will put DIXIE COMMONS even closer to I-15 and right down the street from the St George Convention Center. · The new interchange will seamlessly connect to Exit 6 (Bluff Street) and have its own on and off ramps in both directions. · Most of Dixie Drive is already wide enough for 5 lanes of traffic. However, concurrent with the Exit 5 project, will be the widening of select portions of Dixie Drive from I-15 to Sunset (including the Mathis bridge). · Traffic counts are currently 18,000 ADT on Dixie Drive, and are expected to increase dramatically at the completion of the new interchange and widening projects. · Construction is now underway (January 2010)! |
